Blackjack is a game of strategy and chance. The objective is simple: get your card total closer to 21 than the dealer — without going over 21.
Blackjack is one of the most popular and beginner-friendly card games in the casino.
How Blackjack Works
You are dealt 2 cards
The dealer also gets 2 cards (1 face-up, 1 face-down)
Card values:
2–10 = face value
J, Q, K = 10
Ace = 1 or 11 (whichever helps your hand)
You win if:
Your total is higher than the dealer’s (without busting)
The dealer busts (goes over 21)
Step by Step Guide: How To Play Blackjack
Place Your Bet
Select your wager amount and confirm before the round begins
Receive Your Cards
You’ll be dealt 2 cards
The dealer gets 2 cards — one is face-up (the other is hidden)
Decide Your Move
Hit: Take another card
Stand: Keep your current hand
Double: Double your bet and receive one more card only
Split: If you have a pair, you can split into two separate hands
(requires matching your original bet)
Dealer Plays
Dealer reveals their hidden card
Dealer must hit until they reach a total of 17 or higher
If the dealer busts (goes over 21), your hand wins.
Win or Lose
Closer to 21 than dealer = win
Over 21 = bust = loss
Same total = push (tie) → bet is returned
Payouts
Standard win: 1:1
Blackjack (Ace + 10-value card): 3:2
Insurance: 2:1
Push (tie): bet returned
Bonus Tips
Always split Aces and 8s
Never split 10s — it’s already a strong hand
Double down on totals of 10 or 11 when the dealer’s showing a weak card (2–6)
